The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM), in collaboration with Unipork Cyprus Ltd, is offering a series of educational seminars to UNIPORK producers. The first seminar in this series took place on 13 June 2024 and focused on ‘Intestinal Diseases in Suckling Piglets.’

Head of Department and Programme Coordinator,  Assistant Professor Manos Vlasiou, welcomed the livestock farmers and introduced the speakers. Clinical Assistant Professor George Nikolaou and Veterinarian and Clinical Associate Marios Christoforou, provided insights into intestinal diseases in newborn piglets.

Additionally, Associate Professor Eleni Gentekaki discussed the role of the microbiome, while Assistant Professor Catalina Cabrera presented on summer infertility in sows. The event concluded with a dinner at The Block Restaurant.

The series of educational seminars aims to provide continuous training for UNIPORK producers and other pig farmers in Cyprus.
