The Department of Veterinary Medicine and the DVM programme are accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) and assessed against their rigorous standards, that are in line with the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG). The European Standards and Guidelines are the framework for quality assurance across the European Higher Education Area. This ensures that the quality of education is at an appropriate and comprehensive international standard.

The DVM programme has been developed to meet the requirements of the EU Directive on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications (2005/36/EC) which will enable graduates to have their award recognised towards registration to practise in EU and EEA member states, following graduation. The curriculum has been aligned with Day One Skills and Competences as required by RCVS, AVMA, EAEVE, and the World Organization for Animal Health, in support of the global recognition and licensure pathways our graduates seek. Students are advised to check with their own individual national authorities if they wish to practise in their own country. The Careers & Alumni Office provide individual student career support, starting as early as Year 1.
