Professor George Giaglis

Professor George M. Giaglis is the Executive Director of the Institute for the Future at the University of Nicosia (UNIC). He teaches Web3, crypto, blockchain, and metaverse courses, and has been instrumental in designing the curriculum of the world’s first academic programs in this space: MSc in Blockchain & Digital Currency and MSc in Metaverse, both offered by UNIC. He has worked with institutional and corporate clients on blockchain and technology monitoring projects and is a member of Meta’s Reality Labs Policy Advisory Council. He has served as the academic lead of the European Blockchain Observatory and Forum and sits at the Academic Advisory Board of INATBA (International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications). Throughout his career, he has published twelve books and more than 170 articles in leading scientific journals and conferences, while he is frequently interviewed by media and invited as keynote speaker or trainer in events across the globe. He is the Chief Editor for Blockchain Technology at Frontiers in Blockchain and member of the Editorial Board at Ledger.
