The Psychology Lab is a purpose-designed research and teaching facility that supports the full breadth of the undergraduate Psychology programme while laying the groundwork for research and international collaboration. The Lab is organised into three dedicated spaces:
- A Focus Group Room for qualitative research, interviews, role-play, and counselling-skills training
- A Control Room that coordinates experimental sessions, stimulus delivery, and live observation
- A Psychophysiological Data Collection Room for controlled recording of human behaviour and brain activity
The Lab supports teaching and research across the programme’s core pillars: research methods and statistics, brain and behaviour, cognitive and experimental psychology, psychophysiology, clinical and counselling skills, psychometrics, health psychology, language and psycholinguistics, and independent thesis work. Available equipment includes electroencephalography (EEG) for the study of brain activity; non-invasive neuromodulation (tACS and tDCS) for research on cognition, learning, and clinical applications; eye tracking for studies of attention, reading, decision-making, and perception; virtual reality for immersive experimental and embodied cognition tasks; and behavioural testing stations for precise stimulus control, response timing, and digital psychometric assessment.
The Lab is also a contributing node to UNIC Evolve, the University’s district-scale living lab, providing the human measurement layer that links cognition, attention, performance, trust, and behaviour to real-world environments and human-AI interaction.
Designed to be legible to students, faculty, partners, and visitors alike, the Psychology Lab offers a modern, research-active environment where undergraduates gain hands-on experience with the same tools used in publishable, internationally relevant research.
