Dr Daphne Mavrides appointed Head of Department and Programme Coordinator at the School of Veterinary Medicine

The University of Nicosia School of Veterinary Medicine announces the appointment of Dr Daphne Mavrides as Head of Department and Programme Coordinator, effective 1 November 2025.

Dr Mavrides has served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the School since 2022, where she has demonstrated leadership as Assessment Lead, NAVLE Lead, and Course Lead. She holds a BVSc from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Infection and Immunity from University College London, and is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and the Cyprus Veterinary Registrar.

With research interests in zoonotic infections, epidemiology, and antimicrobial resistance, Dr Mavrides currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator of the “AIRCOMM” seed grant and as COST Action Management Committee Delegate for Cyprus.
