UNIC neurologist contributes to new guideline on asymptomatic hyperCKaemia

Professor of Neurology at UNIC Medical School, Theodoros Kyriakides, has co authored a new clinical guideline published in the European Journal of Neurology, the official journal of the European Academy of Neurology.

The guideline provides structured, evidence based recommendations to support clinicians and researchers in the assessment and management of asymptomatic/oligosymptomatic hyperCKemia, with the aim of improving consistency and clarity in day to day practice.

Commenting on the publication, Professor Kyriakides stated: ‘High quality guidelines are an important tool in clinical neurology, as they help translate growing research evidence into practical steps for patient care. Asymptomatic/oligosymptomatic hyperCKemia may affect 1.3% of the general population. In this work, our goal was to offer colleagues clear and usable recommendations that can be integrated into routine clinical decision making and research. The guideline will be of use to General Practitioners, Internists, as well as Neurologists’.
