Medical School signs MoU with University of Illinois College of Medicine

The Medical School and the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UIC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to seek collaboration, inter alia, on the development of research and the delivery of joint certificate/degree programmes, and on the exchange of research findings, publications and academic teaching resources. Through this memorandum, both institutions have agreed to explore opportunities for the exchange of faculty as well as for the identification of student educational opportunities. Furthermore, the MoU includes the organisation of joint activities such as meetings, short courses, seminars, symposia, lectures and conferences.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine is one of the largest medical schools in the US with four campuses located in Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, and Urbana. It maintains a 4,000 faculty across the four sites, 75 residency programmes and a student population which exceeds 2,300.

The MoU was signed on Tuesday 5 November 2019 at the University of Illinois by the Executive Dean of UNIC Medical School, Professor Andreas Charalambous (2nd left) and by the Dean of UIC, Professor Mark Rosenblatt (3rd left) in the presence of Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs of the UIC, Professor Robert Barish (left) and Vice Provost for Global Engagement of the UIC, Dr Neal McCrillis (right)
