Description:
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) lie at the heart of Europe’s economy. Yet in the face of technological disruption, global supply chain volatility, and growing sustainability demands, these businesses often lack the digital infrastructure and skills to keep pace. The Erasmus+ Block4SME project brings together a transnational consortium of academic institutions, private sector experts, and vocational training providers to equip SMEs with blockchain-based tools and skills. Through targeted training, open educational resources, and interactive simulations, the project helps SMEs unlock the potential of blockchain technology to modernise supply chains, improve trust, and boost long-term resilience. All materials are available in multiple languages and designed to be reused, adapted, and integrated into broader training or business development strategies.
The training will offer: Guided walkthrough of the online e-learning platform; Live expert presentations and case study discussions; Hands-on exploration of blockchain use cases; Peer exchange and support; Certification of participation and skills gained.
Target audience:
- SME owners looking to future-proof their operations;
- VET professionals and providers updating their teaching and training portfolios;
- Local authorities and policymakers seeking SME development tools;
- Trainers and consultants in digital transformation;
- University students seeking to upskill themselves.
Objectives:
Purpose: To empower small and medium-sized enterprises—particularly in the tourism and agri-food sectors—and their trainers with the practical knowledge, tools and confidence needed to harness blockchain technology for greater transparency, resilience and sustainable growth.
Overarching Goals:
- Build Foundational Understanding: Equip SME owners, managers and VET trainers with a clear grasp of blockchain principles and how they translate into real-world business value.
- Showcase Sector-Specific Use Cases: Demonstrate through case studies and simulations how blockchain can modernize supply chains in tourism (HoReCa) and agri-food.
- Deliver Hands-On, Interactive Learning: Provide multimedia-rich modules and cloud-based simulations that let participants experiment with blockchain scenarios in a safe environment.
- Develop Practical Implementation Skills: Guide participants through end-to-end deployment steps—from selecting use cases to integrating blockchain into existing business processes.
- Foster Peer Exchange and Capacity Building: Create opportunities for SME professionals, trainers and policymakers to collaborate, share best practices and extend the training framework within their networks.
