The BSc Psychology programme, Department of Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Admissions Department at the University of Nicosia, is hosting a psychology workshop titled: "Understanding Emotions – Why and How We Feel What We Feel." The workshop will be led by trainee psychologists from the Centre for Therapy, Training and Research (KESY) and will take place on Saturday, 28 March 2026, from 11:00-14:30 at the Central Building of the University of Nicosia.

The workshop will be offered in Greek, simultaneously in a different venue.

KESY is part of the Social Sciences Department of the University and serves as a coordinating institution and as a practicum placement and training site for the students of the MSc Programmes in Clinical, Counselling, and School Psychology of the University of Nicosia.

The main aim of the workshop is to familiarize high school and technical school students with how emotions work, their psychological basis, and their impact on everyday behaviour.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the basic emotions and their functions
  • Understand the relationship between emotion, thought, and behaviour
  • Identify common misconceptions about emotions
  • Evaluate examples of emotional responses and explain why they occur

Note: Spaces are limited. Priority will be given to final year students and prospective BSc Psychology students. Confirmation of participation will be sent via email the week before the workshop.

Secure your participation by 20 March 2026.
