Essential topics in artificial intelligence and its implications for academia and student life will be explored during the online talk, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 June, at 14:00 EEST. Attendees can expect a review of emerging AI trends anticipated for 2025, offering insights into new developments in the field. A key focus will be the ethical use of AI, emphasizing the importance of responsible integration of these tools into student work and academic practicesThe presentation will also examine the evolving relationship between generative AI and human creativity, highlighting potential shifts in roles and oversight within educational settings. In addition, a variety of innovative AI tools will be introduced, aimed at enhancing learning, productivity, and career development. 

Presenter: Dr Chris Alexander
Dr Chris Alexander is the Head of the AI Learning Centre at the University of Nicosia, where he leads the integration of artificial intelligence into the university’s educational strategy, particularly through the Accelerate/PowerFlow platform. He previously served as Head of the Technology Enhanced Learning Centre and the Distance Learning IT Unit, and has been a key figure in advancing digital education at UNIC since 2004. His work includes shaping the university’s e-learning, blended learning, and distance learning strategies, and leading the development of multiple educational applications and IT projects. Dr Alexander is also an Associate Professor in Technology Enhanced Learning, Applied Linguistics, and TESOL. His research focuses on AI-enhanced learning, learning design, and learning analytics, and he has published over 80 academic papers and 150 posts related to AI and TEL.
