“AI in Education: The Promise and the Reality”, is tailored for teachers, researchers, and academics who wish to understand the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. During the online talk, scheduled for Wednesday, 14 May, at 18:00 EEST, we will discuss AI’s opportunities to enhance educational practices, personalise learning experiences, and support teachers and learners. Through concrete examples, we will critically assess opportunities, limitations and challenges relating to the use of AI in educational contexts.

The session will conclude with a discussion, offering an opportunity to also explore ethical considerations, shifts in teacher and learner roles, data privacy concerns, biases, and potential risks in the use of AI.

Presenter:
Charalambos Vrasidas is Founder and Executive Director of CARDET, an international non-profit with more than two decades of global engagement. He is Professor of Learning Innovations & Policy at the University of Nicosia. A lifelong learner, a teacher, researcher, innovator, and social entrepreneur, he led the design and implementation of hundreds of initiatives and projects in more than 40 countries. He chairs the Cyprus Education Summit, and the global event Learning Innovations Summit.
