
Dr Anna Efstathiou
Dr Anna Efstathiou, Associate Professor, Interior Design Programme Coordinator
Dr Anna Efstathiou is Associate Professor and is the Interior Design Programme Coordinator. She holds a Diploma in Architecture from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), an MA in Industrial Design from Birmingham Polytechnic (UK), an MBA degree (Concentration: Human Resources Management), from the University of Macedonia (Greece) and a PhD from the Edinburgh College of Arts, Heriot Watt University (UK) with the support of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. Anna Efstathiou has served in academic positions as a senior lecturer in the AAS College in Thessaloniki (Greece) (1992-2004) and as the Course Leader of the BA and MA in Interior Design Programmes of the AAS – UCLAN partnership in Thessaloniki (Greece) (2005-2012). Since 2012 she is the Coordinator of the Interior Design Programme, University of Nicosia (Cyprus). In parallel to her academic involvement, she has been a professional Architect Engineer at the Technical Department of ATE Bank in Greece (1992-2011) and the Archigraph (www.archigraph.gr) architectural practice (1996-present). She is a member of professional bodies, TEE in Greece and ETEK in Cyprus, a member of the Greek Colleges Teaching Staff (Ministry of Education, Greece) and a member of the Hellenic Energy Inspectorate (Ministry of Environment and Climatic Change, Greece). Her research interests concentrate on Cultural Heritage in relation to Design, on the Semiology of the Designed Environment, on the Intangible Values of Interior Space Experiences, on Hospitality Design and on Transdisciplinary Collaborations.
