University of Nicosia’s Teaching English with Technology Reaches Top Global Rankings in Scopus CiteScore 2025

The University of Nicosia is pleased to announce that Teaching English with Technology (TEWT), a peer-reviewed Journal published by the university and indexed in Scopus, has achieved a remarkable advance in its international rankings according to the Scopus CiteScore 2025 results.

TEWT’s CiteScore has more than doubled in a single year, rising from 4.7 to 10.4, with the Journal moving from the 94th to the 98th percentile. In the category of Language and Linguistics, TEWT is now ranked 17th out of 1,137 journals worldwide, rising from position 61, placing it in the 98th percentile globally. In the category of Education, TEWT is ranked 66th out of 1,698 journals, placing it in the 96th percentile.

The CiteScoreTracker 2026 is equally encouraging, with TEWT beginning the new cycle at 13.5 for May, indicating a strong trajectory for the next ranking period. TEWT is also currently the third highest-ranked Computer-Assisted Language Learning journal in Scopus, placing it ahead of many titles published by major international academic publishers. This progress is especially significant given TEWT’s distinctive identity as an AI-in-TESOL Journal.

The result represents an important milestone for the University of Nicosia as a Scopus-indexed Journal Publisher, and reflects the outstanding work of our authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the wider scholarly community that has supported TEWT’s development, while also demonstrating the university’s growing visibility in international research publishing.

Reflecting on this milestone, Dr Alexander highlighted that Teaching English with Technology represents a successful Cyprus–Poland collaborative initiative, jointly advanced by the University of Nicosia and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Poland (co-publisher). He expressed special appreciation for his fellow Editor-in-Chief, Professor Jarosław Krajka, whose vision and commitment have guided the journal’s growth since its founding.
