Overview, Vision and Mission

The Department of Digital Innovation at the University of Nicosia is dedicated to advancing education, research, and innovation in emerging technologies that are transforming business and society. Areas of focus include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Digital Assets, the Internet of Things (IoT), the Metaverse, and Digital Transformation.

As a global pioneer in digital innovation education, the University of Nicosia launched the world’s first MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency in 2014. Today, the Department is internationally recognised for its excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement, attracting students, researchers, and collaborators from around the world.

Drawing on expertise from technology, business, economics, finance, and law, the Department conducts interdisciplinary research and works closely with leading universities, research centres, policymakers, and industry partners. Through a global network of collaborations, it contributes to the development and responsible adoption of innovative technologies that create impact at technological, business, and societal levels.
