Seminar 11: “Socio-technical Research: Frontiers and Challenges”

A research that exhibits a long-lived impact and spans over a wide range of social improvements with the use of various parameters including technical and ambient assisted living improvements, is called Socio-Technical Research (STR). In other words, STR includes the involvement of both social and technical interactions, occurring in such a way that a social benefit is gained. By considering socio-technical framework conditions, improvement of the quality of life can be ensured by various factors. In this talk we will expand the STR, how this may be initiated, created, developed, acknowledged with scientific stand, whereas an expansion of key issues on how this research can be used -in predoctoral and postdoctoral research – will follow.
