Centre for Therapy, Training and Research (KESY)

KESY was founded in 2004 by the University of Nicosia. It is part of the Social Sciences Department of the University. KESY serves as a coordinating institution and as a practicum placement and training site for the students of the MSc Programs in Clinical, Counselling, and School Psychology of the University of Nicosia.

KESY’s Mission:

  • To provide high quality mental health services and to contribute to the education and training of parents, students and professionals via seminars, lectures and other activities.
  • To improve the quality of everyday life and to promote and improve the mental health and well-being of individuals, groups of individuals and/or the community.

Services:

The services of KESY are provided in a professional manner, according to the ethical principles that bind the profession of Psychologists and always in the best interest of the recipient (individual(s), organization or system).

  • Parental Counseling for child rearing matters or for specialized difficulties children are dealing with
  • Individual counseling or psychotherapy for children and adolescents
  • Psychological support and individual psychotherapy for a broad spectrum of mental problems or difficulties for adults
  • Couples counseling / therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Group psychotherapy / counseling
  • Psychometric / psychoeducational assessments
  • Experiential workshops for children, teenagers and adults
  • Training seminars for parents, professionals, students or other groups of people
  • Development and implementation of preventive programs / interventions
