University of Nicosia (UNIC) Offers Free Seats at their Upcoming Online Professional Certificate Courses on Blockchain & Forecasting

One webinar on May 29 and five online courses starting on June 1

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) announces the availability of one free seat (100% discount on tuition) in each of their six online courses scheduled to begin on May 29 and June 1. The Professional Training Certificate Courses of UNIC’s Institute For the Future (IFF), a world leader in blockchain education, are targeted at professionals interested in “leveling up”. However, not everyone can afford to level up amidst COVID-19 lockdowns, so IFF is now offering the possibility for one student on each of the training courses to attend on a complimentary basis.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) has never been more important as technological advancements have fundamentally changed the way we learn, work and access information. In line with its standing as a pioneer in blockchain education, UNIC took these factors on board in designing distance learning courses that provide students flexibility on location, time and learning pace.

IFF offers two types of Professional Training Certificate Courses, which are all online, interactive and digitally verifiable on the Bitcoin Blockchain: six-week in-depth courses and half-day masterclass webinars. Six such courses are scheduled to start in the coming weeks, including:

  1. Blockchain Regulatory Academy: Half-day (four hours) webinar on May 29, taught by Jeff Bandman, who has served as a Senior Officer at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and FinTech Advisor to the Chairman. The masterclass provides an understanding of the regulatory framework and examines case studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the best practices that apply in the regulation and policy making landscape with regards to Blockchain, digital currencies and digital assets.
  2. Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies: Six-week online course starting June 1, taught by Antonis Polemitis, George Giaglis and Marinos Themistocleous who are leading experts in the field engaged with related technologies since their inception. Security tokens are a new financial instrument that is expected to heavily disrupt and influence several industries, as it allows for fractionalized ownership of different assets which can also be transferred via blockchain.
  1. Blockchain & Energy: Six-week online course starting June 1, taught by Ioannis Vlachos, who is a blockchain and energy expert. The energy sector, in particular, has drawn attention on both a research and commercial level for the use of blockchain technologies and how smart grids and blockchain powered peer-to-peer solutions will transform the traditional sector.
  1. Applied Forecasting: Six-week online course starting June 1, taught by Spyros Makridakis, who has over 40 years of knowledge and experience in the field of Forecasting. The aim of the course is to learn how to improve accuracy predictions, correctly estimate forecasting uncertainties and figure out its risk implications.
