University of Nicosia Retains Top Position in Education Studies in Cyprus and Greece for 2025
The University of Nicosia ranks among the top universities in the world in 5 different subject areas, in the THE WUR by Subject 2025
The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2025 confirm the University of Nicosia’s (UNIC) continued leadership in the field of Education, ranking it #1 in Cyprus and Greece for Education Studies.
Correspondingly, UNIC ranks among the Top 201-250 universities in the world, and 46th in the European Union, in the discipline.
Commenting on the results of the THE WUR by Subject, the Dean of the School of Education, Professor Elena Papanastasiou, expressed her great satisfaction that the University of Nicosia has surpassed all the Cypriot and Greek Universities in the subject area, noting: “These results highlight the solid foundation on which our curricula and research are based, offering a competitive advantage to our graduates both nationally and internationally. It is worth noting that these kinds of rankings demonstrate both the quality of our academic research and programmes and the effectiveness of our practices. I would like to express my sincere thanks to my colleagues for their continued commitment and valuable support. Without their collective effort, as well as the support of the University administration, we would not have been able to achieve this top rank.”
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) is possibly the most influential university classification system globally, drawing on five decades of expertise in the sector and millions of individual data points.
These subject rankings are the latest in a succession of distinctions bestowed on UNIC by Times Higher Education, which notably includes ranking the University among the Top 501-600 universities worldwide in its flagship World University Rankings for 2025.
