Welcome Message

Welcome to the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance

The Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance prepares graduates who are capable of interpreting economic change, evaluating financial information, assessing risk and contributing to responsible decision-making in an increasingly complex global environment.

Our programmes bring together Accounting, Banking, Economics and Finance, combining rigorous academic foundations with professional relevance and applied learning. Throughout your studies, you will develop the analytical skills, technical expertise and professional judgment required to understand financial information, evaluate markets and institutions, and address contemporary business and economic challenges.

The Department embraces emerging developments that are transforming the global economy, including artificial intelligence, financial technology, data analytics, workflow automation, sustainable finance and corporate reporting. Our aim is to equip you with the knowledge, adaptability and ethical awareness needed to navigate uncertainty, embrace innovation and create value in a rapidly evolving professional environment.

Our experienced faculty is committed to excellence in teaching, research and engagement with professional practice. Through internationally recognised programmes, professional networks and research-informed learning, we prepare students for successful careers in accounting and professional services, auditing, taxation, banking, financial management, investment, consulting, regulation, public policy and emerging digital-finance industries.

The Department also supports globally recognised professional pathways in Accounting and Finance. Students enrolled in the BSc Accounting programme benefit from significant exemptions towards the ACCA and ICAEW professional qualifications, while the programme’s affiliation with the CFA Institute and alignment with the CFA Programme curriculum provide strong preparation for careers in finance and investment.

We invite you to join a department that values analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity and professional integrity, and that prepares future leaders to contribute to sustainable economic and financial development.

We wish you all the best for a successful academic journey and a rewarding career.
