Mr George Panayiotou

As of February 2004, Mr George Panayiotou is working at the University of Nicosia as an Associate Lecturer in his field of expertise within the Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management Department. Besides his teaching and student advising duties, as part of his extended duties, Mr Panayiotou is Employment Placement Coordinator (EPC) responsible for internship placement, coordination and supervision for all hospitality, and tourism students at the University of Nicosia. Furthermore, he is involved in European funded projects the most recent being an LLP project known as COREVET (https://corevet.eu/en/). He also develops and conducts personalized industry-specific training(s) in Cyprus, Romania and Greece using both face to face and E-learning platforms.

He is also a board member of the Institute of Hospitality (Cyprus Branch), member of the Cyprus Bartenders Association as well as the Academic Advisor for the Euro Mediterranean Academy of Tourism. Mr Panayiotou is also currently a re-elected member, as faculty representative, of the council of the University of Nicosia.

Prior to his current position, Mr Panayiotou has gained extensive experience in several hotels and food and beverage operations, both locally and internationally working in managerial level positions, and later as the General Manager of his lodging establishment.

Mr George Panayiotou holds a Bachelor (BSc) in Hospitality (Hotel) Management from Intercollege, and a Masters (MBA) Degree in Management from the Maastricht School of Management, Holland, and is currently pursuing a PhD.
