NEOLAiA is pleased to announce an upcoming online event titled “Words That Shape Us: Narratives, Histories, and Linguistic Practices in Multilingual Europe,” set to take place on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 09:50 AM to 2:00 PM (UTC+03:00, Athens/Bucharest time).
This event will bring together scholars, educators, and students for an engaging discussion on how language and narrative shape collective identities, historical memory, and everyday life in contemporary Europe. Participants will explore topics ranging from linguistic diversity and postcolonial storytelling to media narratives and oral traditions.
The event is part of NEOLAiA’s broader commitment to promoting intercultural dialogue and inclusive academic exchange across Europe’s diverse linguistic landscape.

About NEOLAiA and UNIC’s Involvement:
NEOLAiA is an innovative European University alliance connecting campuses across nine countries with a unified digital identity. The alliance focuses on digital transformation, diversity and inclusion, and enhanced mobility, providing University of Nicosia students the opportunity to experience studies at partner universities throughout Europe.
The alliance has secured €14.4 million in funding from the European Commission for a four-year project commencing on 1 January 2024, making it one of seven successful applicants from a pool of 39.
