The Master’s Program in International Relations and Eastern Mediterranean Studies DL (Department of Politics and Governance) of the University of Nicosia will host a follow-up podcast to an online discussion held in April 2026 “War in the Middle East: Regional Security and Strategy Perspectives”. This time, the discussion is moving from wartime developments to the assessment of outcomes and prospects for diplomatic settlement.

In light of the recent US-Iran memorandum of understanding and ongoing efforts to end the conflict, the podcast will examine who has gained and who has lost, whether the emerging diplomatic framework can produce a sustainable peace, and how the post-war environment may affect the balance of power in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. Faculty experts will offer concise analysis of the implications for regional security and cooperation.
