UNIC Evolve at the BioInnovation Greece Forum 2026
UNIC Evolve, the University of Nicosia’s flagship research initiative, participated as a Gold Sponsor in the BioInnovation Greece (Big) Forum 2026, contributing to its scientific programme and highlighting the connection between research and innovation in life sciences.
Kyriacos Felekkis, Chief Operating Officer of UNIC Evolve and Dean of the School of Life and Health Sciences at the University of Nicosia, delivered the keynote “Biology in Real Life: Building a Living Laboratory for One Health in Athens”. The session was moderated by Michalis Hadjithomas, Director of the Genomics & Data Science Unit at UNIC Evolve and Co-Founding Partner of BioInnovation Greece.
The keynote presented UNIC Evolve’s approach to studying human biology in everyday settings by combining biological data, food chemistry, wearables and environmental data. It highlighted the first operating version of Evolve (ATH1), which is already running in Athens at UNIC Athens, the University of Nicosia’s first branch campus in Elliniko, Greece, the University of Nicosia’s academic and research base in Greece, and plans to expand the approach at The Ellinikon, putting One Health into practice.
Held in Athens from September 30 to October 4, 2026, the Big Forum brought together more than 500 participants and 150 speakers across over 50 sessions focused on biotechnology, health tech and life science innovation.
