UNIC Erasmus+ Week at Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University

The Erasmus Office of the University of Nicosia in cooperation with the Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University organized its first ever UNIC Erasmus+ week in China.

The Erasmus Office of the University of Nicosia, in cooperation with the Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, had the honour to organise its first ever UNIC Erasmus+ week in China, which took place between 3 and 7 June 2019.

The UNIC Erasmus+ week at Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University was a huge success, and the Erasmus Office was proud to send colleagues from a number of departments: Engineering; Life and Health Sciences; Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management; Languages and Literature; as well as from the Erasmus Office itself. A wide range of presentations were delivered by the faculty members, covering topics such as: Erasmus+ Staff and Student Mobility/other Erasmus+ opportunities; traveling in Cyprus; food in Cyprus; environment in Cyprus; discovering the secrets of Cyprus through hiking; and the language and literature of Cyprus. Moreover, faculty members not only had the opportunity to interact with students in class, but to also meet with colleagues from relevant departments and discuss possible future avenues for cooperation.

A wide range of cultural activities, workshops and presentations were organised by the Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, including: Chinese Calligraphy; Music and Dancing; Chinese Traditional Paper Cutting; Chinese Language and Culture. In the context of these cultural activities, the participants also went on a guided tour to local museums and enjoyed a taste of traditional Chinese cuisine.

The UNIC delegation was also invited to participate in the 3rd China – CEEC (Central and East Europe and China) Mayors Forum, held in the city of Ningbo, Zhejiang, China between 6 and 8 June 2019, with the theme “New Concepts for New Development”. During the Mayors Forum, the UNIC delegation attended panel discussions, visited local companies engaged in research and innovation, as well as the China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo. Furthermore, the delegation had the honour to meet the Mayor of Ningbo, and other Mayors, as well as delegations from other CEE countries that attended the Forum. Participating in the 3rd China- CEEC Mayors Forum was an excellent opportunity for networking and meeting new partners.

The Erasmus Office of UNIC is looking forward to continuing and further developing the fruitful cooperation with Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University.
