UNIC Erasmus Office becomes one of the 15 Eurodesk Multipliers in Cyprus

The University of Nicosia Erasmus office announces its addition to the Cyprus Eurodesk network, as “Multiplier”. The Office’s task as a ‘Multiplier’ is to support Eurodesk’s mission to make information on learning mobility in Europe comprehensive and accessible to young people and those who work with them.

Eurodesk is a European youth information network created in 1990. In Cyprus, Eurodesk is operated by the Youth Board. With a network of 38 Eurodesk Centres connected to local information providers in 36 European countries, Eurodesk raises awareness on European opportunities and encourages young people to become active citizens. It federates over 1500 so-called “multipliers and ambassadors” that are regional or local organisations working with young people, delivering youth information and advising young people on mobility opportunities.

In a letter to the UNIC Erasmus Office, the Cyprus Youth Board highlighted that “having studied the work carried out by the Erasmus Office of the University of Nicosia, as well as its actions related to the many issues that concern young people […] we are convinced that both Eurodesk Cyprus and the University of Nicosia will gain significant benefits from a possible cooperation, which will, in its turn, benefit the youth of Cyprus”.

The UNIC Erasmus Office’s participation in the Eurodesk Cyprus network, will be an important addition to the further promotion of the objectives of the programme, which mainly concern the information of young people about the mobility opportunities offered by the European Union evolving around issues pertaining to inclusion, green policies, participation and innovation.
