University of Nicosia and Brno University of Technology to collaborate in the fields of teaching, research, innovation and exchange

The Dean of the School of Business at the University of Nicosia, Professor Angelika Kokkinaki, together with the Dean of the School of Sciences and Engineering, Dr George Gregoriou, held an official meeting on campus on Tuesday, 8 October 2019 with Dr Zdenka Konecna and Dr Jiri Kriz, Associate Deans of the School of Management at Brno University of Technology.

The meeting was coordinated by the Rector of the University of Nicosia, Professor Philippos Pouyioutas, and was attended by the Senior Vice-Rector, Professor Andreas Polemitis, and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Edna Yamasaki-Patrikiou.

During the meeting, an ERASMUS+ Agreement was signed between the two institutions. The two parties also discussed the broader framework for cooperation in the fields of teaching, research, and innovation, as well as the prospect of developing joint programmes of study.

Brno University of Technology is ranked among the top 601-800 universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and among the top 651-700 universities in the QS World University Rankings. It is also a partner in the university consortium that the University of Nicosia is actively involved in, through Rector Pouyioutas and Vice President for Development, Professor Vasilis Koulaidis, concerned with submitting proposals for the creation of a “European University”.
