UNIC Architecture invited by McNeel Europe to present a User Webinar on resent research and student projects in the Metaverse

The Department of Architecture of the University of Nicosia is happy to be presenting a User Webinar on resent research and student projects in the Metaverse, further to an invitation by McNeel Europe.

The webinar will focus on the use of Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper for the creation of metaverse content. The presentation will include a brief introduction to the metaverse and research projects illustrating the creative process. Three distinct pipelines (the “Voxel”, the “Polygon” and the “Game Engine”) will be presented and explained to demonstrate the various steps involved in realizing the workflows.

About the presenters

Odysseas Georgiou is a computational design engineer and an adjunct faculty at the Department of Architecture, ARC, of the University of Nicosia. His research focuses on interactive approaches to reinventing architectural forms, based on their structural performance. Odysseas is a founding member and director at SEAMLEXITY, a computational geometry practice in Cyprus. He is a lead computational designer and BIM Coordinator in many geometrically challenging projects in Cyprus, collaborating with international design consultancies.

Michail Georgiou is an associate professor (programme coordinator) at the Department of Architecture, ARC, of the University of Nicosia in the field of Computational Design and Digital Fabrication. He is a practicing architect/founding member of HUB design platform, SEAMLEXITY, and OOM. His current research focuses on developing and applying computational tools in assisting and enriching design and construction processes.

Ioulios Georgiou is an architect and computational designer, specialized in digital fabrication technologies. His practice focuses on architectural design, as well as consulting for additive manufacturing companies. He is also involved in research and teaching at the Department of Architecture, ARC, of the University of Nicosia.
