MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency, Class of 2023

Kenya

The MSc program didn't just complement my role as a managing partner, it actively enhanced it. The insights I gained helped me better understand the regulatory and legal challenges of blockchain, giving me the confidence to engage more deeply in this space.

My journey into blockchain technology began unexpectedly through a conversation with a full-stack developer. At the time, I was only vaguely aware of blockchain, but as we talked, I became intrigued by its potential, especially its intersection with legal frameworks. As a managing partner at a law firm and an advocate at the High Court of Kenya, I saw potential in understanding how this technology could impact legal practice and regulation.

Upon further research, I recognized the importance of developing a solid foundation in blockchain technology to fully understand its legal implications. This led me to the University of Nicosia (UNIC) and their MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency program. UNIC’s reputation as a leader in blockchain education, combined with its structured and practical approach, made it the ideal choice.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been that my studies aligned well with my professional work. The MSc program didn’t just complement my role as a managing partner, it actively enhanced it. The insights I gained helped me better understand the regulatory and legal challenges of blockchain, giving me the confidence to engage more deeply in this space.

The UNIC experience proved to be transformative. The curriculum was thoughtfully designed to challenge and engage students, with lecturers who provided both challenging content and practical insights into the blockchain industry. Beyond the coursework, one of the most valuable aspects of the program was the connections I built. My classmates came from diverse professional backgrounds, and their perspectives enriched my understanding of blockchain beyond the legal lens. These relationships have evolved into a strong professional network, opening doors for collaboration and ongoing learning.

The combination of legal expertise and blockchain knowledge has created unique opportunities to bridge the gap between traditional legal practice and innovative technological solutions. The program has equipped me with the tools to navigate the intersection of law and technology in an increasingly digital world, while enhancing my ability to serve clients and position our firm for the future.

Based on my experience, I recommend this program to others. The MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency at UNIC offers more than academic knowledge; it provides a transformative experience that opens new perspectives and opportunities.
