Professor Panagiotis Skandalakis

Panagiotis Skandalakis is President of UNIC Athens, Professor of Surgery at UNIC Athens Medical School and Professor Emeritus at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He received his MD and PhD in Surgery from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and subsequently obtained an MS in Surgery. Throughout his academic career, he has held appointments at leading medical and academic institutions in Greece and abroad, including the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam.

Professor Skandalakis specialises in Surgical Anatomy and has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications and books in the field. His academic work includes Surgical Anatomy and Technique: A Pocket Manual, an internationally recognised reference in surgical anatomy and operative technique.

Alongside his academic and clinical career, Professor Skandalakis has held a number of senior public and institutional positions. He served as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for twenty years, as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, as Chairman of the National Health Council, and as elected Vice-Chairman of the North Atlantic Parliamentary Assembly.
