Vassilis Pelekanos holds a PhD (2015, initially at the University of Birmingham, then at the University of Cambridge) in Psychology/Cognitive Neuroscience. This was followed by post-doctoral research work in neuroimaging and computational cognitive neuroscience at the Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Medical Research Council, University of Cambridge (2015-2017) and at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford (2017-2019). Subsequently, he was a Senior Research Fellow, and a Principal Investigator at the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham (2019-2025). He has taught at the University of Oxford, Open University of Cyprus, the University of Nottingham, and the University of Athens. He joined the University of Nicosia in 2025 as an Associate Professor.
