NEOLAiA LACE Programme Brings Spanish Language and Culture to UNIC

The LACE programme (Language and Culture Exchange Programme) was launched at the University of Nicosia on Friday, 20 March, in a well-attended event. The programme is being implemented as part of the University of Nicosia’s participation in the European University Alliance NEOLAiA.  Through this initiative, students from NEOLAiA partner universities serve as ambassadors of their countries’ language and culture.

Alicia Isabel Martin Carmona, a postgraduate student from the University of Jaén, offered an introduction to the Spanish language and culture. Participants had the opportunity to learn basic expressions for everyday communication and to explore Spanish music and traditional myths, such as the legend of the Lizard of Jaén. The session was highly interactive, and participants had the opportunity to practice Spanish in groups interacting with native speakers studying at the University of Nicosia through the Erasmus+ programme.

The LACE Programme is organised by NEOLAiA Work Package 7 (Towards a Plurilingual and Intercultural European University).
