From Cyprus to New York

I am truly pleased with my decision to complete both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Nicosia.

The knowledge and experiences I acquired as a student at the University definitely shaped me as both an individual as well as a professional.

My Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature was an amazing journey which awarded me with many skills, a great appreciation for literature and inspired me to continue learning and chasing my dreams. Furthermore, I am especially grateful that UNIC gave me the opportunity to step into the role of student assistant at the Erasmus Office of the University. The position enabled me to acquaint myself with a professional working environment and gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of the European Union’s student exchange programmes. My work experience at the Erasmus Office also played a crucial role in my decision to pursue a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies.

Due to its geographical position and rich history, Cyprus is a truly unique place, ideal for studying International Relations. The Master’s programme itself has so much to offer, giving students the opportunity to study under acclaimed professors, discuss political realities in culturally diverse classrooms and discover so much about the region and the world. Studying in Cyprus has given me a great advantage in my current position at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Nations, where I get to apply all I have learnt during my studies at UNIC.

I am definitely a very proud UNIC graduate, extremely thankful to my professors and all UNIC staff for their continuous support, guidance and for being an undeniable source of inspiration in my life.
