The Department of Computer Science of the University of Nicosia invites you to the Info Session on “Artificial Intelligence: The Rise of the Machines” on Saturday, 12 April 2025 between 10:00 – 12:00 at Newton Amphitheatre, University of Nicosia. Registrations begin at 9:45. 

How does ChatGPT and other groundbreaking technologies work? How does YouTube decide which videos to recommend? What products do our customers buy together? How can the performance of a football/basketball team be improved by analysing data from previous games?  From self-driving cars, to smart homes, to medical diagnosis and drug discovery, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we live, work, and interact with our world. Whether you are a high school student passionate about technology, science, or just curious about the future, this event is tailored for you! 

The event includes a presentation of the Department of Computer Science and demonstrations of the Department’s robots and drones  programmed by students of the Department of Computer Science. 

This Info Session is addressed to students of public and private High Schools as well as Technical Schools.  

The presentations and demostrations will be in English.
