Dr Vasiliy Sazonov, Dean of Faculty of Space Research, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia will deliver two seminars on 2 and 5 November 2018, at the University of Nicosia (UNIC).

02 November 2018 | 11:00 – 12:00 | M115

Title: Problems of mathematical modeling of external impact on spacecraft.

Designing spacecraft engineers have to understand how reliable spacecraft is. The perfect tool is mathematical modeling. The lecture is devoted to three problems of mathematical modeling related to spacecraft flight:

  • aerodynamic pressure modeling,
  • thermal conditions of spacecraft modeling,
  • solar batteries work modeling

05 November 2018 | 12:00 – 13:30 | CINE Studio

Title: International Space Station, how does it work?

This seminar is devoted to International Space Station, all systems of Russian Segment of International Space Station: thermo-control system, electrical power supply system, guidance, navigation and control system, crew life support system. Also, the so called dynamical operations (spaceship launch, rendezvous and docking, returning to the Earth) will be considered, as well as, space experiments on board of ISS.
