Advances in Second/Foreign Language Acquisition (ASeFoLA) Conference

The Department of Languages and Literature (School of Humanities and Social Sciences) at the University of Nicosia invites you to the international conference Advances in Second/Foreign Language Acquisition (ASeFoLA 2024), which will be held online for the third consecutive year, on May 17-19, 2024.

ASeFoLA brings together researchers from around the world who study the process of acquiring a second/foreign language in an interdisciplinary manner, using theoretical frameworks and methodologies from the fields of theoretical and applied linguistics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, language teaching, etc.

This year, ASeFoLA is pleased to host distinguished guest speakers from abroad:

  • Do Coyle, Professor of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), University of Edinburgh
  • Eudokia (Kia) Karava, Associate Professor of Language/Linguistics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
  • Shaofeng Li, Professor of Foreign and Second Language Education, Florida State University
  • Giorgos I. Xydopoulos, Professor of Linguistics, University of Patras and Hellenic Open University
