The University of Nicosia announces the commencement of applications for the Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme in Oil & Gas Engineering for the Fall 2025 academic semester. This programme is delivered on-campus and is taught in English.

Programme Overview:
The BSc in Oil & Gas Engineering is designed to provide a solid foundation in engineering fundamentals combined with specialized knowledge relevant to oil and gas exploration, production, and management. The curriculum covers technical, operational, and environmental considerations in the modern energy sector. 

 Programme Features: 

  • The programme prepares students for technical and professional roles in the oil, gas, and energy industries.
  • It emphasizes the integration of theory and practice through laboratory courses and fieldwork.
  • Students gain analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. 
  • The curriculum promotes awareness of engineering ethics and sustainable development in the energy sector. 

Curriculum: 

  • The programme requires a minimum of 240 ECTS credits.
  • Core Courses: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Introduction to Engineering, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Petroleum Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Production Engineering.
  • Elective Courses: Environmental Impact Assessment, Energy Economics, Health, Safety and Risk Management, Project Management.
  • Includes laboratory coursework, field study, and a final year thesis project. 

Admission Requirements: 

  • An accredited secondary school leave certificate or equivalent and official Transcript.
  • Strong background in Mathematics and Sciences.
  • English Language Proficiency: As required for university admission.
