New Features in Engageli

The new release of Engageli has three new features for instructors in the classroom – Polls, Quizzes, and Sprints.

Polls

Polls and quizzes are essential in virtual classrooms to combat disengagement, provide instant feedback on comprehension, and foster an active learning environment. Use of these strategies in Engageli allow instructors to gauge understanding in real-time, and ensure all students—not just vocal ones—participate equally.

Polls are used for icebreakers, surveys or sentiment analysis. Instructors can do a quick pulse check and adapt teaching in real-time without disrupting flow. Polls now can have multiple questions, instead of just one question for use as an in classroom survey tool.

Quizzes

Quizzes are used to assess comprehension in real time and as low stakes tools to reduce test anxiety. Quizzes can be a formal or informal assessment strategy to enhance retention through repetition. Correct answers must be specified with a quiz.

Quiz responses are available to the instructor to determine learner knowledge and areas of instruction and intervention needed. Quizzes can be AI generated in the moment based on File Share or Classroom discussion.

Sprints

Sprints in Engageli classrooms encourage active learning and provide instant formative assessment to quickly gauge gaps in learner understanding. Sprints leaderboards encourage competitiveness, getting more points for faster answers increases focus, all this leading to increased motivation and engagement. All student data in one system that can be actioned on by the instructor.

Built-in support for Sprints in the playback room injects competitiveness and time pressure into async learning. Being able to compare yourself to other class participants in real time (through leaderboards) improves motivation.

Turn quizzes into interactive games with music, timers, and leaderboards to energize the classroom
