The University of Nicosia (UNIC) had the honour to host the 3rd Erasmus+ International Staff Week last month (26-30 March 2018). This annual initiative was pioneered a number of years ago by UNIC, having previously organised two successful Erasmus+ International Staff Weeks.

The Erasmus Office was proud to welcome over 45 participants from 19 different countries, including Japan, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Israel, as well as from 13 other European Countries. Participants had the unique opportunity to find out more about UNIC, network and share best practices with other colleagues working in international or study abroad offices.

The Week featured a wide range of activities, covering topics such as International Credit Mobility and Internationalisation Strategies, Study Mobility, Marketing and Recruitment, Application Procedure and Regulations, Course Compatibility Process, Transfer of Academic Credits, mandatory Study Mobility Vs optional Study Mobility, Student/Graduate Traineeships, success stories and best practices.

There were workshops, presentations, problem-solving cases, discussions and social events! The main objectives of the Week’s programme were peer-learning, networking, transfer of knowledge and sharing of experiences and best practices among colleagues. In the context of cultural activities, the participants also had the opportunity to experience a guided tour through the divided city of Nicosia, a cultural trip to Lefkara village, a cocktail night at Coffeeology101, and a night out at a traditional Cypriot tavern.

The Erasmus Office of UNIC would like to warmly thank all the participants who joined us for the 3rd Erasmus+ International Staff Week. We’re already preparing for and looking forward to next year’s event on campus!
