General Surgeon
Dr Petros Myrianthefs graduated from Athens Medical School in 1979, completed his General Surgery specialisation in 1984, and earned his PhD in Total Parenteral Nutrition from the University of Athens in 1988. He completed postgraduate training in advanced colorectal, endoscopic, and bariatric surgery across the US, Europe, and the Middle East, including training at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle and the American University of Beirut.
Over his career, Dr Myrianthefs introduced laparoscopic surgery to Cyprus in 1991 and performed the island’s first LONGO PPH operation (1997), stapled laparoscopic appendectomy (1998), and totally laparoscopic colectomy (2005). He also established bariatric surgery procedures in Cyprus—initiating Laparoscopic Gastric Banding in 1999, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass in 2004, and Sleeve Gastrectomy in 2005—and has served as an international surgical instructor for Johnson & Johnson / Ethicon Endosurgery.
