Dr George Athanasiou is a Clinical Assistant Professor of General Practice and a Personal Doctor at the University of Nicosia Medical Centre (UNMC). He served for eight years in the A&E Department of the Larnaca General Hospital. His research focuses on primary healthcare management and quality improvement. He has a special interest in Aviation Medicine, where he is active in the medical certification of flying personnel. His interests also include Emergency and Major Disaster Management.
