During Spring 2019 the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department organised two clinical seminars in collaboration with the Cyprus OBGYN Society, the Cyprus Perinatal Society and the Cyprus Nurses and Midwives Association.
On March 28, the clinical seminar on Construction of Partogram to Improve Neonatal Outcome and Reduce Caesarean Section Rates was attended by 45 healthcare professionals and medical students. Several UNIC medical students had the opportunity to present The Caesarean section rate in Cyprus based on the Robson Classification. It is worth noting that during this seminar, the Cyprus partogram was adopted by the Cyprus Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society and by the Midwifery Committee.
On May 23, the clinical seminar on Perinatal Infections was attended by 47 healthcare professionals and medical students. The programme included a Retrospective Analysis on Streptococcal Infections presented by several UNIC medical students. During the seminar a consensus was reached on screening guidelines for infections during pregnancy.
