University of Nicosia Announces ‘CyprusAid’ Scholarship Opportunities for Students from Selected Countries
The University of Nicosia, in cooperation with ‘CyprusAid’ and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, is pleased to announce a scholarship scheme for eligible students* from selected countries who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Cyprus.
The scheme applies to students from:
Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Botswana, Mauritius, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, and Madagascar
The scholarships are available for studies beginning in September 2026.
*Eligible students must hold a valid passport or official identification document confirming nationality from one of the eligible countries and must also be permanent residents of one of the countries listed above.
Scholarships Offered
As part of this initiative, the University of Nicosia will offer the following scholarships:
Undergraduate Studies
Five scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees for Bachelor’s degree programmes.
These scholarships apply to English-taught, on-campus Bachelor’s degree programmes offered by the University of Nicosia, excluding programmes offered by the Medical School.
Postgraduate Studies
Four scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees for selected Master’s degree programmes.
The eligible Master’s programmes are:
• MBA – Master in Business Administration
• MA in International Relations and Eastern Mediterranean Studies
• MA in Digital Media and Communications
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarships cover 50% of the tuition fees for the approved programme of study.
The University’s scholarship does not cover accommodation, living expenses, travel costs, medical examinations, visa or residence permit fees, insurance, or any other personal or administrative expenses. However, the selected students will receive reimbursement for these through ‘CyprusAid’, through the Republic of Cyprus.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
• Hold nationality from one of the eligible countries;
• Be permanent residents of one of the eligible countries;
• Meet the admission requirements of the University of Nicosia for the selected programme of study;
• Meet the English language requirements of the selected programme;
• Submit all required documents for admission and scholarship evaluation.
Required Documents
Undergraduate applicants will be required to submit documents such as:
• Valid passport
• Secondary school leaving certificate
• Academic transcripts, where applicable
• Proof of English language proficiency
• Any additional documents required for admission and visa purposes
Postgraduate applicants will be required to submit documents such as:
• Valid passport or national ID
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution and official academic transcripts
• Curriculum Vitae, where applicable
• Proof of English language proficiency
• Any additional documents required for admission and visa purposes
Application Procedure

Applications will be assessed according to the University’s admission requirements and the terms of the scholarship scheme. Final decisions regarding admission and scholarship awards will be made following the relevant evaluation process.
