Giorgos Kentas (PhD Vrije Universiteit Brussel, 2009) is Associate Professor of International Politics and Governance at the University of Nicosia and Director of a Graduate Programme in Public Administration. He is Policy Advisor at the Center for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development (SeeD). He is also a member of the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA). He served as a member of the EU Consent and FONET, two research groups funded by the European Commission. He also worked with the European Council on Foreign Relations on EU’s Common Security and Defense Policy. He taught at the Jean Monnet Chair at the University of Nicosia. He participated in a number of research projects in Cyprus and abroad. He published in peer-reviewed journals and written and/or co-authored five books. His latest book is titled “Security in the context of a Cyprus settlement”. In 2007 he produced a comprehensive report on EU-Turkey relations and ever since he follows closely the evolution of membership negotiations in relation to the Cyprus Problem and to other regional implications. Currently, he works on a book on Strategy Planning in Public Organizations and he pursues research in regional cooperation in Eastern Mediterranean.
