Skevi Kyriacou is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics at the University of Nicosia Medical School.

Dr Kyriacou obtained a BSc in Molecular Medicine and Biochemistry from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, and a PhD in Medical Genetics from the University of Cyprus, where her research focused on methylome and transcriptome analysis towards non-invasive prenatal diagnosis.

She completed postdoctoral training at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and subsequently served as a Visiting Scientist, gaining further research experience, before transitioning to the biotechnology industry. From 2016 to 2025, she led the Reproductive Health and Postnatal Genetics team within the Research and Development department at Medicover Genetics (Nicosia, Cyprus), focusing on the development and validation of genomic diagnostic assays. Since 2025, she has been serving as Chief Scientific Officer at Cell-Free Genomics Ltd (Nicosia, Cyprus), where she leads the scientific strategy and development of innovative genomic technologies.

Her research interests over the years have focused on clinical genomics, with particular emphasis on reproductive genetics, non-invasive prenatal testing, and the application of next-generation sequencing technologies for the detection of chromosomal abnormalities and monogenic disorders. Her current work places particular emphasis on the development of next-generation non-invasive prenatal solutions that expand the clinical scope of testing and improve diagnostic accuracy to support clinical implementation, enhance patient care, and contribute to the advancement of precision medicine in reproductive health.
