ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Reverend Archimandrite Anastasios Poyiadjis is an Honorary Professor of Tropical Medicine at the University of Nicosia Medical School. He earned his MD and PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens and specialised in Internal Medicine. He was subsequently ordained to the priesthood of the Orthodox Church and completed a Degree in Theology.
Since 1993, he has devoted most of his time to serving as a missionary priest and physician in several African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and Madagascar. Through this work, he has gained extensive clinical experience in Tropical Medicine and has developed particular expertise in adapting medical practice to low-income healthcare settings, especially in rural communities.
