Faculty member speaks at psychiatry and mental health conference in Romania
Vered Aharonson, Professor of Medical Physics and Programme Lead for Digital Healthcare at the Medical School, recently took part in the 10th European Conference of Psychiatry and Mental Health in Galați, Romania.
Held under the auspices of the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP), the conference aims to cultivate rigorous scientific dialogue, encourage collaboration beyond disciplinary boundaries, and keep the human dimension of mental health at the centre of academic and clinical practice.
The conference had a multidisciplinary character, drawing professionals from multiple disciplines such as psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience and pharmacology. Prof. Aharonson was invited to give a keynote speech on digital healthcare in the context of psychiatry titled ‘Digital Psychiatry: Let’s Talk!’
She also gave an interview to local news station MPlus TV (TeleMoldova Plus). During the interview, Prof. Aharonson discussed the future of psychiatry in the digital age, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies. She also emphasised the importance of education in equipping students and professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to maximise the benefits of digital healthcare while addressing its potential risks.
