Medical Students showcase clinical skills and cases at Paphos General Hospital
On Friday, 13 February 2026, UNIC medical students at Paphos General Hospital (PGH) organised the third annual, multi-thematic clinical conference, bringing together senior students for a day of knowledge sharing and hands-on skill development.
Held in the hospital amphitheatre under the supervision of Professors Joseph Joseph and Joseph Moutiris, the conference featured presentations by Year 5 and Year 6 students covering emerging medical research, as well as case reports drawn from their clinical rotations.
As part of the conference, students also had the opportunity to participate in ultrasound and intubation workshops, supervised by Professor Moutiris and Anaesthesiologist Lena Charalambous, respectively, which added a strong practical component to the day.
The conference was organised by a team of MD Year 6 students: Jumana Al Maskari, Weaam Al Hoqani, Reem Fakak, Emma Nordahl, Eleanor Froneman, Khalid Al Kamzari, Ahmed Al Shereiqi, Prakriti Anuj Sachdev, and May Hajeir.
The organising team expressed their sincere thanks to Professor Joseph Joseph, Professor Joseph Moutiris, Academic Lead Makarios Asprou, and PGH Senior Site Administrator Stella Naziri for their guidance and support throughout the planning process, noting that their mentorship was instrumental in bringing the conference to life.
The event was supported by the University of Nicosia Medical School and the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY).
