Research Project Description:
The Smart & Healthy Ageing through People Engaging in Supportive Systems (SHAPES) Innovation Action intends to build, pilot and deploy a large-scale, EU-standardised open platform. The integration of a broad range of technological, organisational, clinical, educational and societal solutions seeks to facilitate long-term healthy and active ageing and the maintenance of a high-quality standard of life. Mediated by technology, in-home and local community environments interact with health and care (H&C) networks contributing to the reduction of H&C costs, hospitalisations and institutional care. SHAPES aim to create the first European open Ecosystem enabling the large- scale deployment of a broad range of digital solutions for supporting and extending healthy and independent living for older individuals who are facing permanently or temporarily reduced functionality and capabilities. There are thirty-six (36) organisations from 19 countries participating in the project.
Objectives:
- To create the SHAPES Pilot Campaign Plan, knowledge model and evaluation methodology;
- To define the SHAPES, Use Cases;
- To conduct the SHAPES Pan-European Pilot Campaign, including small-scale pilots and demonstrations and large- scale pilots to validate the SHAPES Platform capabilities and benefits to care recipients, caregivers and care service providers;
- To validate the SHAPES Platform at the European scale, across different regions, cultures and health and care organizational models;
- To assess the impact of the SHAPES Platform in supporting healthy ageing and independent living and the definition of improved integrated care policies and measures.
