FameLab Cyprus 2018 1st Place goes to a UNIC Human Biology student

Foteini cross-wired the audience’s senses…

with her theme for the final on “What do colors… taste like?”
providing a flavour of the phenomenon of Synesthesia in humans!

And she’s on her way to FameLab International!

Foteini will now travel to the Cheltenham Science Festival to compete at
FameLab International among contestants from another 33 countries
in the largest Science Communication competition in the world.

Constantina placed 3rd in this year’s FameLab Cyprus, presenting the
science behind a solar eclipse! Constantina is a graduate of the UNIC
Human Biology programme, currently pursuing a master’s degree at CING.

This is the second consecutive year a UNIC student wins first place
in the national FameLab competition.

 


FameLab is a communications competition designed to engage and entertain by breaking down science, technology and engineering concepts into three-minute presentations. 

The National FameLab competition is organised by the British Council, SciCo Cyprus and the Research Promotion Foundation with the support of CYBC. 

Contestants from around the world take part armed only with their wits and a few props – the result is an unpredictable, enlightening and exciting way to encourage your curiosity and find out about the latest research.
