UNIC Mentor: Selected among the Top 5 entries for the Community Engagement Initiative of the Year Award in the 2020 Asia-Pacific Triple E Awards

The University of Nicosia Mentor Youth Guidance Programme proudly announces that it has been selected to represent UNIC among the Top 5 entries in the category Community Engagement Initiative of the Year Award for the 2020 Asia-Pacific Triple E Awards on Entrepreneurship and Engagement Excellence in Higher Education.

The Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), comprised of world-leading experts, has designed the world’s first accreditation programme for entrepreneurship and engagement at institutional level in order to facilitate universities at becoming more entrepreneurial and engaged, ultimately generating greater social, cultural and economic impact.

The Triple E Awards are a global recognition of efforts towards the quest for entrepreneurship and engagement in higher education. It is the first award to focus specifically on different dimensions of the universities’ third mission. Implemented regionally, the Triple E Awards aim to foster change in universities and to emphasise their role in their communities and ecosystems.
The Community Engagement Initiative of the Year Award recognises an initiative that significantly differs from standard practice and created exceptional results for the wider community, with a focus on societal impacts. The initiative stands out from the crowd, as it either addresses a difficult problem that was not satisfactorily resolved before, or it has been scaled and makes a far-reaching impact. Regardless of the intense competition, the University of Nicosia’s entry has been shortlisted as one of the Top 5 entries in the category.

The University of Nicosia has been invited to Kochi, India to attend the Award Ceremony on the 10 January 2020, where all 5 shortlisted entries will be presented, celebrated and welcomed on stage for the formal recognition of the winners. The ceremony of the 2020 Asia-Pacific Triple E Awards will be hosted as part of the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Globalisation (ICSG) on “Connecting Academia, Industry and Administration towards a Sustainable World”.
